What’s your FIT?
We are always waiting for opportunities to make changes, better ourselves, or fit in the next item on our to do list. We try to fit in more things every day without really understanding what they are or what they mean to us.
Sometimes that list we are trying to fit in is something as simple as household chores, trips to the salon, or last minute family appointments. What about the other things though that we want to fit in? The things that would bring more peace, create balance, and are guides for us to achieve our true passions and reach the level of prosperity and potential that we have always dreamed about.
We definitely wait to fit that in. Our dreams that it is, until it’s the right time or we have met some bizarre goal we set for ourselves when we were still children. I decided to stop waiting and to find my FIT now.
What is FIT? FIT is a plan of action that creates Focused Intentional Targets for you to develop into the next version of yourself. The version you always dream about.
F = Focused
I= Intentional
T= Targets
I wanted to make sure that my FIT journey centered on recreating myself physically, spiritually, mentally, and emotionally.
I wanted to challenge myself and not stay stuck in other people’s expectations.
I wanted to reduce the stress, guilt and shame I had around past mistakes and decisions.
I wanted to be happy, guilt free, and live with gratitude every day.
Making those changes meant hard work, both inner and outer, needed to take place. It was work that I was only ready for when I discovered my reasons for making these changes.
It meant learning about nutrition and making changes to my diet that I had fought for so long like cutting out processed foods and sugar that I mindlessly consumed. It meant learning about mindfully eating the right foods for me to fuel my body and make sure I move that body EVERY SINGLE DAY.
It meant taking a look at my life and where I wanted it to go and discovering what truly made me come alive. It meant pushing myself beyond the limits I had set in my mind so long ago. It meant removing those limits by working on myself with coaches, retraining my thought process, and practicing forgiveness with not only others by with myself as well.
It meant owning up to bad habits and past mistakes with a smile and no longer blaming others for my role in making those decisions.
Finding your FIT can be a challenge and at times you will want to walk away and go back to what you have always known. However, if you can identify the FIT for your life, you can find peace, wholeness and live a life of intention.
You will find that you are able to handle the stress that may come up in a whole different way than before. You will find that your decisions are made from a place of peace and comfort and not a place of worry and fear. You begin to trust yourself because you know the true intentions behind the decisions you are making.
You can use the FIT process in any area of your life: business, home, relationships, parenting and in your community. The key is to discover what your desired outcome is and then work through steps to reach the identified goals.
